How a Garment Becomes New Again
Every project begins with a careful review of the garment and its materials. We look at construction, wear, seam allowances, and the details that can shape a practical redesign.
From there, we discuss the concept, the scope of work, and the best way to update the piece. Some garments are ready for a clear remodelling plan, while others need a more limited approach based on the fabric available.
Remodelling starts with the fabric you already own.
At Alteration Atelier, redesign is guided by structure, fit, and the possibilities hidden in each garment.
We also work with vintage clothing, sentimental pieces, and items that deserve a second life. Depending on the project, this may include dress and skirt remodelling, shirt and jacket restyling, fit updates, or fabric-reuse accessory work.
Before any additional work begins, approval is required. Final details are reviewed again at collection, so the finished piece can be checked carefully and any agreed finishing adjustments handled with attention.
